I-264 WITCHDUCK RD INTERCHANGE & RAMP EXTENSION
The new collector-distributor roadway was extended from the Newtown Road interchange to the Witchduck Road interchange. The south side of both interchanges was reconfigured to eliminate a problematic weave movement. A new flyover was included across I-264 to connect Greenwich Road on the south side of the interstate with Cleveland Street on the north side. Previously, Greenwich had ended at Witchduck & Grayson.
To improve flow, Greenwich Road's original connection at this five-legged intersection was removed, and the existing stretch of Greenwich RoadĀ terminates in a cul-de-sac just east of the former Norfolk-Southern railroad tracks. The overpass also included a programmable and color-changing aesthetic lighting system. This system backlights the blue wave feature seen from I-264 EB and WB. The contract value is $8,052,491.67.
