Complete 540 (R 2828)
As part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s (NCDOT) “Complete 540”initiative, VSL is a key subcontractor on an extension of NC-540, Triangle Expressway on a new alignment through Wake and Johnston Counties, NC from US-401 to the intersection with I-40. The work is part of the state’s larger Complete 540 project to establish a full loop road around the city of Raleigh. Once finished, the Complete 540 project, scheduled for delivery in 2022, will connect several towns and cities in the area, and help ease congestion on local roadways.
Technical Details:
The Complete 540 R2828 project includes:
- 26 overhead sign structures
- 40 high mast lights
- Over 20 miles of conduit
- Approximately 60 miles of conductor
- Low level roadway lighting
- Ground mount signs
